SUPER SKI MOM - Happy Mothers Day

Super Ski Mothers tend to there young like a bear mother does to her cubs. My Alicia keeps a close eye on our cubs at all times, passing up skiing with me some times to be sure our younglings, and the other younglings with us are safe and sound. I am the luckiest guy on Earth to have a wife that loves to ski and is a Super Ski Mom.

Happy Mothers (Mon) Day to you all.

Thank you TrekChick! It was a surprise for my wife and also all the mom's out there. I even bought Alicia the URL too just for fun. http:://www.superskimom.com

It amazes me what Ski Mom's have to do, I mean I have a hard time getting ready to ski - now add kids, then think about lunch, your skiing, their skiing and then getting them undressed, fed etc. I have it easy and I assure you I help. Ski Mom's rock and my kids and I are fortunate that Alicia loves to ski and to be an incredible Ski Mom... She happens to be an incredible mom too.

So, looking forward to skiing with you and others from this community.

Maybe next year you can bring Super Ski Mom to Arapahoe Basin for Mother's Day - It will be our 9th Annual Mother's Day at Abasin.

I think we missed it because we were skiing on Mother's Day. :)

Feel bad that we couldn't make it to A Basin for Mothers Day again.

Happy Mothers Day to all you Super Ski Moms. Hard to think my kids and I did this video a year ago instead of getting a card.

@Tony Crocker introduced me to Kristen Lummis, author of the Brave Ski Mom blog. She is a very good skier and a positive influence on the sport. Unfortunately she was injured late this season. So here is a Mother's Day thumbs up to her and wishes for a full recovery.

I'm not sure how I introduced qcanoe to Kristen Lummis. I met her in person for the first time and skied a few runs with her and family at Solitude on March 7. We were once accosted by a complete stranger who noticed Kristen's smooth ski form through the bumps near the Summit chair, no doubt by contrast to my flailing along trying to keep up!

I became aware of BraveSkiMom when I was runner up to her in 2013 for NASJA's Harold Hirsch award for blogs, an award I won in 2008. Kristen is more consistent, as she won the award again in 2014.

Sorry to read about the broken arm and dislocated shoulder.

Tony, try to keep up. The "complete stranger" was me. We had just talked an hour before, at lunch on the deck, as you were trying to recover a left-behind parka. smile.gif
