get the SVST file guide.  the stainless steel one is really nice but twice the price of the alloy ones. I have happily used the alloy ones for years, just get it.  For files the bets and longest lasting I have found is the Swix 8inch second cut.  For Diamonds, as others have stated, moon flex is hard to beat.

Go to Artech ski and get the the SVST 3 degree guide, swix file and moon flex red and yellow (200 and 400) and you are set and with their current sale you should get the lot for about $120

Out of most of those until August.

"downunder" coupon code for 20% off orders of $200 + at Tognar through Friday if you can think of a few other things you need.  I just did and the coupon worked :)

Mo bettah, here:  www.alpinebaseandedge.com  is having a sale of 60% off MSRP right now.  I just ordered a SVST Final Cut Base Beveler 1 degree (List $89.00, discount price $35.60) and a SVST Pro Edge Beveler 2 degrees (list 32.00, discount price $12.80) and some other things at the same discount.  They shipped it within an hour of receipt of the online order.  The website was being a bit flakey, so Chuck walked me through after his fixes.  Seem like nice people.

Absolutely killer deals.  Ditto the SVST Pro Edge Beveler (3 degrees for me), and a file.  Thanks!

Thanks, I'd stopped even looking at sales, and these are great deals even with the pricey shipping. I finally ordered two degree and three degree SVST bevelers, and at $7.00 apiece I had to pick up some of those power-grip ski holders, which will work great for my cordless vac and some other stuff that belongs on a wall. Score!
