Well, they allow much harsher responses to provocation, too.
What's funny is that I don't find TGR to be the dangerous den o' debauchery that some Bears sometimes make it out to be. I post both places...
I probably post more there than here, mostly because it's more aligned with my interests - more back/sidecountry and AT/tele etc., less racing, carving and instruction. But clearly I post here a lot too. And the TGR music and movies and books threads are really good, as are the fishing and biking sub-forums. And I've met some really cool people there...not that I haven't here as well. And I guess I kind of share the TGR ethos as well - I don't mind it rough.
But the place does have a way of corralling and/or running off disruptive influences and/or d-bags. They get in your face, and that's effective, if a little uncomfortable.
Anyone frequenting the drakemag.com fishing forums will find a similar flavor.
And before I close, a shout-out to the mods here - they do a great job given the parameters set for them.
