Well, Josh, I'm not sure why it's important to assume that other people suck when you've never seen them ski. Whole classes of people.
I mean, you know I suck because you've seen me ski. I notice you're nice enough not to say so here, but if you did, you'd be within your rights. When you make blanket statements like "western skiers can't ski," you're asking for a pretty rational push-back. You haven't seen them ski; you've made an assumption.
You have an agenda that's about skiing, and you've made some excellent observations, and that's fine. If you believe in that agenda, you need to work on rhetoric. The people you might hope to convince aren't going to accept you or the idea, not if they have to deal with being insulted first. It's just functional rhetoric.
That may not satisfy you, and if it doesn't, it could be useful to ask yourself why it doesn't. I'd ask myself that question.
