Sizing Question for 2014 Atomic Blackeye Ti

I'm 5'11" and weigh about 180-185lbs.  I ski on the east coast, mainly Poconos but also venture up to northern NY and VT and mainly blue and black groomers.  Not sure what level skier that makes me, but I'm certainly no expert.

Have been looking at the Atomic Blackeye Ti recently and feel I'm in between the 174 and 181 lengths -- at least according to the Atomic sizing chart on REI website.  These skis have some rocker but from what I can tell it does not necessarily make it ski short. Would the 181s be too much ski for me? Thanks in advance for any input.

I tend to think yes. IMO the 174 would be a better fit without knowing more of your background and ski level ?

I'm 5'11" 195lbs, level 9 skier, 59y/o ski at Okemo every winter weekend. By Kendo's are 177cm. Until I bought these 3 years ago, I spent the previous 10 years or more on 170cm skis.

If your young and a strong skier then may be the 181 would be ok.

FWIW, My son got back into skiing this past winter after not skiing for 7 years, he's 27 y/o now, spent 6 years in Okemo's race program then taught for 3 seasons. He skied my volkl AC30 in 170cm he's 5'10" 165lbs. He had no problem with them.

Thanks for your response.  It confirms my suspicion that the 174 is probably the better way to go.
