Canting is easy to calculate. On a distance of 60mm boot width a one degree canting angle results in 1mm canting. In soft snow you can get away with a lot of canting but if you ski on a hard and icy surface or on a hard race track anything over 1 deg is huge. Or then your basic alignment is totally off.
