its a traditional legend i believe, but i was reminded of it while watching the movie "the deer hunter"

My Exit on the Garden State Parkway, NJ.
Hey you gotta problem wid dat?

Yeah, it's got nothing to do with skiing, or my name or anything else for that matter. Sorta wondering why I picked it.....

one day i was sitting in my dorm room at college and needed to think up a screan name for an online video game called "red alert."

i looked out my window, and my dorm was 20 feet from a pretty big river. so there is the first part.

c0il comes from a weapon in the soviet arsenal of the red alert video game called the tesla coil. i put em' together and thought it sounded good and it stuck for all IMs and Forums.

the zero is in there just cause i'm a computer geek and that's something i like to do.
didnt't feel the need to be anonymous (or original for that matter.) first name, last initial.
Plus - if you know what a Tesla Coil is, its a silly thing to depict as a weapon. Clearly they thought it sounded cool and that the TV educated kids playing the came wouldn't know what it is! :

Signal Computing System Architecture.

A set of standard interfaces, conventions, and protocols, that enhance multi-technology call processing system design and performance.

Plain English:
Computer Telephony - combining computers and telephones.

Like, talking to the telephone using natural language speech recognition - "Where can I find the nearest bump run". Or, telephone banking. "Press 1 for checking, 2 for savings". Or, telephone dating and sex lines - a few of us have called those, right? I did the O.J. line. Not too proud of that one...

All right.. I did not put it up the first time due to the fact that it is a very stupid reason.. but here goes.

When I first started doing the bulletin board thing it was a fantasy football board and I wanted a 'cool' name, so I picked 'Mack Daddy'. At the time I was young and single and looking and I thought a handle like that might actually help

However, when I came to this board I figured that name did not really fit in this crowd, and honestly, it wasn't me. So I shortened it, and now that is my handle in other boards also.

Hell Of A Skier
also, means that Xscream179 got a new name, so this is Xscream179 now.
As for what it means... i think its self explanitory. Although i was surprised that it wasnt taken when i tried to get it, but the name was also free on AOL so it is my AIM name also.

Roto is localized Argentine slang for 'a bum.' I've been called a ski BUM by so many bosses, parents and clients, etc, I'm used to it. I like reading Tim Cahill who wrote the book Road Fever which is where I discovered the word.

Gelande = a type of jumping on alpine skis in which you remain upright. ( If all goes well)

meister = German for Master or Champion ( Which I am usually not)

Hey, I am a legend in my own mind!

In high school my friends began to call me "spag" 'cuz my last name is Eddy. Spag-Eddy. Simple as that. The Notorious part is just something stupid I added on when I signed up for this forum.

My first name is erin and when I applied for my first ski area job, I guess I wrote my name down sloppily on the app. because they called me up, looking for Erm, instead of Erin. Name stuck.

geriatric athlete. Geriatric because I'm an okd fart and athlete because I keep forgetting that I can't do the same things that I used to do at 25, but I keep trying!

Contrary to popular belief, I actually am not a girl as the "Mary" part of 7 Mary 3 would hint to. I pointed this out long ago, but its been a while so I'll point it out again. Anyone remember the show CHiP's? "7 Mary 3 and 4 responding" I've never figured out if Jon is 7 Mary 3 or if Frank is 7 Mary 3. I've also heard them use other names when responding to a call, but 7 Mary 3&4 always stuck out in my mind. Does anyone know if re-runs of CHiPs are even on anymore?
Wanted a change from my old name and this was the first ski-related that came to mind. With something this obvious it's a good thing that there was no deeper meaning!
Heh, 7 Mary 3 is/was a band too. Didn't know what it came from tho. CHiPs can be found on obscure cable channels at randomly obscure hours.
Boy Roto, you've got that right! Last time I saw CHiPs was last winter. It was 2 or 3 in the morning and I was drinking myself into a depression from the lack of snow and an injured knee. : And you're right, 7 Mary 3 is/was a band too.
Hey, CHiP was one of my favourite shows!!
I bet you'll be really amazed to listen
to John and Frank speaking Italian

Mr. PotatoHead, they stick the tongue out in unison with lostboy's one too
(eh, I like to state the obvious )

Matteo is my name.
I first registered as "nobody", I have already explained somewhere why...
I took the name from the Odyssey, the part where Ulysses and his sailors were made prisoners by Poliphemus (sp?), who asked
Ulyssess what his name was, at which Ulysses
replied "Nobody"...then Ulysses blinded
the giant, and when the giant brothers
asked him who had been, Poliphemus
replied :"Nobody did it".
Sometimes I still post under the old handle
mostly by mistake...

Just my initials.

Ponch and John...gay lovers? Post your opinion here.
