I've never had a season where I skied too much. I live in So Cal where I'm less than an hour away from OK skiing and 5.5 hours away from great skiing in Mammoth. I spend more days at Mammoth than locally.
My wife's E-mail is LUV2TURN, kind of a double meaning.
I got my nickname about 20 years ago. A guy and his wife had just become regulars at Hunter by buying a liftside condo. He was barely an intermediate and I was prominently in the "B" crowd at the time, not the top group on the mountain, but pretty hardcore. We became apres ski friends. One day I saw him in the lift line and as we rode up together, he mentioned he wanted to ski with me some day. We got to the top and I said "let's go" and tolld him which trails we would take. I took off, got to the bottom, and waited...and waited... and waited. When he finally got to the lift, we went back up and he asked me "don't you make ANY turns", I answered jokingly "yeah 2, 1 to get off the lift, and 1 to get back on the lift. How many more do you need?" He replied with "Ahh, Tony 2 Turn, eh".
Not being shy, and quite proud of his new name for me, everyone on the mountain heard about it, and it stuck. I had it as a vanity plate for a lot of years, and having some of the more outgoing friends in the ski industry, people have heard stories about me all over the country. Many times I meet people in the industry, and I'm greeted with Oh, YOU'RE 2turn"
