Park skis for my teenager racer

My 14 year old son is a top-ranked competitive ski racer and a very aggressive free skier who has outgrown his Armada triple J 156cm skis from 2 seasons ago.  He wants a park ski rather than a powder ski. He trains 5 days a week, but likes to play in the park when he has a chance.  I have been researching online and narrowed it down to the Armada AR7 and the Atomic Punx since these each have a waist in the range he seems to want (86 and 84), but I am planning to go with the Armada since he does not really care about rocker.  I want to buy now since I can get a great deal.  My dilemma is size since he is growing rapidly. He is currently 5'4", 115 lbs. This season he was on Fischer WC adult race skis size 155cm slalom, 183cm GS, and 201cm SG. Since he grew 5 inches and gained 25 lbs in the last year, I am projecting he will be around 5'8", 135 lbs by the beginning of next season.  Should I go with the 171cm or 176cm?  And any additional input on ski choice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Fact is the kid sounds like he can ski anything so size only really maters as in what he is looking for out of the ski. If he is looking for a light ski for hitting rails and jibbing, go for the 171. If he is looking for a ski he can use all over the mountain, likes the larger jumps and occasional rails, I would lean to the 176. Normally this would be on the long side for a kid his size, If he doesn't have a problem flexing a 183 GS the AR7 will be no problem for him.

Thanks for the input!  You're right- either one could work.  The 171's would be just right and maybe more fun for him next season, but he could probably get a second season out of the 176's which would be nice considering that he doesn't get to use them very often since he is mostly on his race skis.  The main thing he wants are lightweight skis so he can do all of the 360's and stufff like that.

Nordica soul rider is one of the best all mountain 'real ski' twins around for a Jr. racer's fun stick! 169 would be the fun money... He could ski a 177 and maybe mount it classic +1-1.5mm forward.

Soul Riders are by far the best twin I've ever skied (and there's been a lot), if you don't want something that wide look at the El Paco's, exactly the same just 1cm narrower everywhere. If you want something narrower check out the Volkl Wall, he'll appreciate the edge hold and stability it has while still being awesome in the park.
