All from 2011. searching for reviews looks like perfect skis for a high speed carver. Looks as good as any new skis in the reviews. Am I missing something? 175 or 177 Me, 66, high speed groomers, 185lbs L8, Volkl Nut

Thank you.

If you really like high speed carving you need a GS racing ski.

Just say'n.

EDIT:

Atomic d2 vf70

Head Supershape i magnum 13.5 m radius

tigershark 10 is about 15 m radius

VF70 not sure, but VF 75 is about 14 m radius

All good carving skis, but not high-speed carving skis, more Slalom speed carving skis, and if you are sticking to SL speed carving skis why not get the real deal, i.e. SL race skis from your favourite flavour of ski company.

or for higher speeds, GS race skis (note: only not recommending mentioning SG skis because they are not able to be turned loose often enough in most places and you probably meant GS speeds when you said high)

Well I demoed the atomic d2 double deck gs redster non FIS and the speed scared the hell out of me. I am sure I could have gotten used to it but it was a little bit too much work for an all day ski

Your best bet is probably the tigershark 10 ft judging from what you have written above.

Thanks, I now realize I did not explain myself correctly. Always been on aVolkl GS racing skis. In the last ten years wen to to a vertigo and G4 as I came down in size from 210cm. 4 years ago a shop talked me into K2 Recon. Lost my interest in skiing on that ski. 2 years ago bought a Kendo and skiing came alive again. Its a 177 and I really thought I was going fast letting it all hang out on that ski. Joined the race team at 66. I suck but I realized I wanted a quiver of skis. Cant afford it so I have to try and buy older models or used. My home hill in Ohio is only 300 ft vertical and around 125 acres, with a small Nastar and also where our ski club races around 15 gates so I want a smaller radius turning for Ohio and Pa. The skis above were the best I could find in a older or used ski. Also several write-ups stated the above skis would be good for Nastar or possibly beer league ski. Demoed the Atomic D2 Redster GS non FIS and realized I did not know what fast is. Loved that ski but not a all day ski for me at 66.
Kendo 177 my all mountain and crud ski 22 radius
Volkl WC RS 2009, 177 FIS womens ski just bought for Nastar and cruising. (First Volkl I did not like but I am told I was supposed to mount a Marker Piston plate which I did not. I have one now and will remount the ski and hopefully love it) 23 Radius
Volkl Tiger Shark 175 (I think) around 15 Radius for my small hill and possibly Nastar ski, just bought it used
Volkl Bridge 185, just bought used for my bump and tree ski
Looking for a used SL racing ski and I will be done. Probably not but I think I will be!

While I'm reading your last post, I'm thinking he needs a Volkl SL ski. WHich is what you figured out in the last sentence.

When I bought my Shiro's, www.skiessentials.com had some older race skis. Check them out.

Are you sure you don't want some real skis...smile.gif http://www.skiessentials.com/browse.cfm/2013-volkl-shiro-skis/4,5967.html
just joking.
Do a web search for Volkl SL skis.

Hey, how fast do you really want to go...smile.gif http://www.skiessentials.com/browse.cfm/2009-volkl-racetiger-downhill-world-cup-skis/4,8059.html

That's a killer deal... You may have to find a bigger hill though...LOL

Ok I'm done now...

GSR is a model of the Acura Interga that had a nice B-series (B18C1) twin cam engine... you could put it in a honda civic and build the crap out it, oh sorry wrong forum...smile.gif

I know, right?    Given your reaction to Atomic Redsters, I got curious to see what else you'd feel on whatever ski replaces the RC4 RC Pro for next season.

I have to tell you I loved that ski. Cant wait to demo them again. I have zeroed in on a D2 SL Redster as a slalom ski for me.

The tiger sharks are absolutely amazing on my 300 foot little hill here in Ohio excellent it short turns or long hold speed very well great edge hold love them to death on this hill with 150 acres. Snappy playful and fun any turn shape you want.
