It's really their decision; who knows, maybe these pants are super comfortable and warm.

I've got nothing against looking good. Who wants to look awful? And some places sensibly allow for playing with "fashion" or some forms of self expression more than others (think CO vs wet side of the Cascades). But can you look back over this thread and honestly say that there was not a dramatic drift into objectification? Or that many of the women, in particular,  pictured are not so eating disordered and frail so as to be virtually incapable of actually skiing? I find that a bit disturbing in a community that is ostensibly about skiing.

Personally, when "fashion" and the people "modeling" it starts materially displacing function/realty, and falling into some pretty well understood memes, I start wondering about the real underlying message. Just my .02....

I have never had any interest in stretch pants, but some Oakley softshell pants caught my eye at a shop recently. They didn't carry XL, so I wasn't able to try them on. They had some sort of a purplish blueish dappled thing going on ... I can't get the Oakley site to show me pictures, so I can't find it =/
