Enough ski for me?!? [big man in the northeast]

Hello,

Im just wondering if a K2 AMP 80x in 177 would be enough, Also considering the Atomic Smoke TI in a 178, and Volkl RTM 80 in 181.  I exclusively in the Northeast, but at many different Mtns.  I exclusively stick to bumps and groomers on Blues- Doub. Blacks.  With a decent amount of off-piste for a little fun!  Im 6'3" 250lbs and would be around and advanced intermediate?  Would that be enough ski for my size and needs?

Thank you! Thumbs Up

you exclusively ski bumps, and groomers, on blues, and double black, as an intermediate skier, but also a decent amount of off piste???

wut? :dunno

anyway 177 at 6-3 250 might be a little short.

No I mainly am on groomers and bumps, but I always am skiing in the Northeast.  And I meant mostly between Blues to Double Blacks.

smoke ti is meant for beg-intermediates/lighter people.

That is not the right ski for a person of your size.   I'm not making this up either.

If you look at the specs for the system binding, it says it will only support 90-200lbs of weight.  So you are far big for what this ski was designed for.

If you like atomic, you should at least be on the blackeye ti, even that one the weight range of the binding is 90-225, (you are still over it's design specs, but not by as much).

Then if you are in doubt, your length should be somewhere between chin-forehead which should put you in the mid 180s.

If you have indeed reached adv. int level, what you should do is put down the money for a demo day(s) and take out at least 3 skis, then come back and at least give some feedback on which skis you tried, and what you liked/didn't like about it.  Then you'll get some better recommendations.

If you want a blind recommendation, you can just go through ski magazine's and pick a ski that won a medal.

bobtheskier.

(shameless plug :D) I am selling some 181 Blackeye Ti's in gear swap that would be perfect for you.

These are the 2012 version that came flat, no system binding, so I mounted them with Look PX15 which will handle your weight.

PM  me if your interested.
