She's got Black Diamond Shiva's for boots. She's 5'3", about 115. Former FIS racer. Currently her pretty old daily skis are Volkl Auras in 162. Beyond that, her whole quiver is various Volkl race skis. Fast and aggressive skier. I bought her the Nordica Nemesis in a 169 when this all started. They are still undrilled. The money to do all this is slow for her to accumulate.
She thinks she's narrowed her choices down to the Tyrolia Andrenalin or Marker Tour F10. However, one of her friends, who only uses Dynafit (having money for as much ski equipment as he wants) for touring, has told her he thinks the Tyrolias may have issues such that "you can't skin across flat areas on them (they just try to clamp your heel down when flat), and because the metal parts underfoot get clogged up with snow." In which case she doesn't want them.
I think she is starting out side country, but she's also dragged her alpine skis up Logan Pass in Glacier National Park in July, so I'm sure that it'll be back country within a year or so.
