I can be more direct with my question. The skis I purchased over the weekend are the Rossignol Experience 88 in 170 cm,, which I discussed in another thread. I'm 5 foot 9, so these skis come up to my forehead, and I found they were more maneuverable and easier to ski than the 178s, which I also demoed. I was closer to the fall line with the 170s.
Anyway, according to Rossignol sizing chart, the Experience 88s in 170 cm are recommended for skiers who weigh between 150 and 170 pounds. Recently I have weighed between 174 and 178. Six months ago I clocked in between 164 and 168, and I have have wanted to get down to 160 for some time. I'm not particularly muscular, but I'm in grad school and have put on weight due to stress basically.
I bought the 170s because they seemed like the best fit for me given the options, conditions, etc--and I like them as they are. I'm just wondering how losing 10-15 pounds might impact the way the ski performs. This could be a real motivator for me to drop some weight!
