“The Emperor Has No Clothes”
Too many times in the past 4 years when I have been skiing, 14-17 year-old males racing down the hill on their skateboards without wheels have degraded my ski experience. They race past me and cut across my downhill path no more than 3 to 4 feet in front of me forcing me to pull up or alter my path. They come flying out of the trees onto the hill perpendicularly no more than 6 feet in front of me forcing me to pull up or change my path. They drag their boards over my skis in lift lines. The list goes on. Why are these delinquents allowed on the hill? Their behavior is dangerous and rude. I was skiing at Bachelor a few years ago and told some boarders what I think of their behavior. The “gang” began communicating via texting devices to follow me everywhere that I skied. Things escalated and Bachelor's security had to step in to ensure my safety on the hill and in the parking lot. I know for a fact that skiers all over the country have similar experiences with snowboarders. WHY ARE THESE DELINQUENTS ALLOWED ON THE HILL? I applaud Alta, MRG, and Deer Valley for banning snowboarding and hope that other resorts ban it in the coming years.
