Pittsburgh Post-Gazette winter sports writer Lawrence Walsh reports on the great winter Pennsylvania's ski resorts enjoyed in his article "A lot of snow equals lots of good skiing and good money." Almost all of the region's ski areas opened by the end of November and enjoyed cold temperatures and steady snowfall throughout the season. Allegheny County's Boyce Park, home of the Pittsburgh region's premier feeder hill, had a record season after hiring professional management and infusing the resort with enough tax revenue to reoutfit the 180 vertical foot learning hill with state of the art snowmaking.
