In a distinct way, it is *our* house. Almost all skis areas in Colorado, and most in the West, are on public land. Back in the day, part of the deal one made with the forest service to lease the land for the ski area was that the ski area offer facilities for the guests, stuff like heated places for them to rest and eat. Somewhere along the line, those lodges slowly turned into restaurants and what was free turned into "ante up."
I find it disjointed to read Master Development Plans talking about "providing facilities for public recreation" when the entire operation is geared towards a very specific, very limited, slice of the public.
