Alta Deals

I am going to Alta end of next week for 5 days, Have always gotten good lift ticket deals after the first of April, this year is much more expensive. Other than a deal the first day I am striking out. Any one know of any deals other what is offered by liftopia?

It's easy to get discounts for all UT resorts, including Alta. Ski shops, grocery stores, Costco, sporting good shops, etc sell discount tickets. Unfortunately, Alta's is one of the weakest discounts at $5 off, but the final ticket price of 74 is cheaper than many other resorts around since the window price is less.

Don't know where you're staying, but a variety of shops in SLC and around the base of the CCs will have discounts. Google "alta discount lift tickets" and some will pop up. Or look for ski shops around your hotel and contact to make sure they have tix in stock. The good thing is shops will stop selling their discount tix when the resort drops prices for the spring, so if alta does drop its prices before your trip, you can just get them at the window instead of being locked in ahead of time.

Also if you have a season pass anywhere, check to see if they have a pass holders discount.

Yeah, this year doesn't seem to include any Alta in April deals for lift tickets.  Probably because Easter is so late.  Using another season pass for a discount might work M-Thu.

Going to be several Bears in LCC the week of April 6.  Are you going to ski Alta exclusively?

I'll be at Alta Lodge starting April 5.  Looks like Monday, April 7 might be a day for Bears to meet up for a few runs or apres.  I know of at least a couple who will be around.

PM sent.

Are you staying for the week? I'm considering driving up the other weekend for the demo day depending on the forecast, it's going to be a last minute call! I need to get some demo time on some skis I can't find around here...

Somewhere on Alta's website is a page showing early-purchase ticket discounts through the month of April. They were pretty steep (the discounts, that is).

Call Alta's ticket office and ask. If I get on my computer I'll find the page and post the link.

ETA here's the page I was thinking about:

http://tickets.alta.com/

Also check out the multi day deals on the lift ticket page:

http://Alta.com/pages/tickets.php

It looks like you might find 25% or 30% off. Hopefully something will work.

Yep, staying the week and more so I'll be around for Alta Demo Day.  Bill will be there starting April 8.

This is what's driving me crazy. I was sure I saw a page showing the ticket prices for April, but now I can't find it. frown.gif

Aha . . . from the Alta homepage, click on TICKET DEALS (next to MOUNTAIN CAMS).  26-30% off on multiday tickets for 2,3,4 days.  But looks like the same as Liftopia.

Last year around this time I was paying $40 or $45 bucks with a season pass from any other resort in the US. Haven't seen this deal coming around this time, Snowbird had a similar deal

I did see those , I had better deals in recent past in April, Last year I spent $180 for 4 days, Year before they had a spring pass for 199.00 and skied 5 days, they also had a deal last year $55.00 a day if you had a season pass at another ares. Just being cheap.!!!

Yeah, I also swear I remember seeing pass holder discounts on resort pages in past years, but can't find anything for Snowbird or Powder this year. Powder's cheap enough at $50 (a late-season price that also hasn't been updated on their website), but I'd love to find something cheaper than $80 for Snowbird.

Forget the Interconnect, focus on getting the Internet $#~! together!

Using that link Litterbug put up, Alta has consecutive 4-day passes for $200 by the end of next week. $50 for each ticket sounds like it's right in your sweet spot. Sounds like it's right in anyone's sweet spot for modern-day skiing.

That should be pretty easy.  I hope to get in early enough to ski Sat afternoon for a couple hours to start getting acclimated.  Will be in the lodge for tea time.  Happy to join you for dinner.  Look for a PM.

I am going to buy the 4 day for 230 was 180 last year, I guess the economy is improving.

Snow conditions make a difference too.  Not just snow in LCC, but also what the alternatives are for April.  Pretty sure the year with the $199 Spring Pass wasn't a stellar season for Alta.

Not a spring deal, but Alta has a lift ticket for 2:30-4:30 for $30.  Worked out well for today since I just flew in to SLC.  Got up to Alta Lodge to check in and have lunch.  Made it to the ticket window pretty much at 2:30.

Alta added to the building at the Wildcat base where you get season passes and the MCP.  Easier access.  Has a clearly visible sign for Mountain Collective.  Alta doesn't charge extra for the RFID card, which is a special one for MCP holders.

$32 is correct.  I remembered it wrong.  Still, a great way to get in some turns on day of arrival.

If you want to meet up, come over to the porch in front of GMD around 9:00 on Monday morning.  I'm meeting MauiSteve there then.
