Wicked shin pain... what should I do?

I've been getting WICKED shin pain when I ski and the tongues are pressed against the shins.  What should I do?  What could possibly cause this?  It's quite painful but since I'm not going to stop skiing, I just grit my teeth and push through.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

First things first---read through the above article and do a "shell check".

so----is your boot the right size for your foot, by the shell check?

do you have flat feet?

do you have custom foot beds?

Heading down to Strands and having the tech check my fitting out.  He think it is maybe a canting issue.  Hopefully that's it and canting will clear it up.  My biggest concern is that I've been dealing with the pain for a month or so and I don't think it's going to go away until after the season, which is a bummer.  I guess I'll have to gut it out until then.

Well, I went to Strands in MA and Lief told me that my shin pain was due to a canting issue.  He adjusted the canting on the boots and now the pain is gone.  I can't wait to get out and ski again this weekend.
