Simple stance concept. Maybe think of this instead of the hip dumping.
he is actually doing what he should be doing and saying what he should not be doing. the canadian are very good at the float phase and the ability to cross over their skis in quicker path but going quickly aft lets them be tons more dynamic, and less stemmy than say the PSIA demo team members.
May be I didn't catch exactly what he was saying because my english is not so good. But I can see what he was showing while explaining: good alignment : hips-knee-foot (outside leg). And the skier didn't show that in the photo grabbed...this photo shows the end of transition and this kind of position while entering new turn leads to a disaster in competition.
Of course you can ski like this in powder or in free skiing as far as you recover a fore stance in the falling line (as in the demo of video).
I understand the philosophy of the 2 ways of skiing canadian vs the "stemmy" american way :-)
