I have skied my friend's MX 88 . Spent a whole day on them last trip west. My opinion is they are extremely stable ski. But my accolades stop there I think. His skis are the 178 cm or 176 can' t remember now.

Maybe I am too light at 170 lbs and ski too slow to appreciate what they do and their top end. I prefer a smaller turning radius as well .

Anyway, I have read al the superlatives about this the past few years but for me they did not resonate that way. Lot of work in the bumps for me as well.

Just my $.02

I don't know; we are selling our remaining stock for $725 flat, so they are not really that expensive, when you consider they have a race tune that would cost you $85 to duplicate on any cheaper ski, and the construction is a lot better than your run of the mill brand. They will last much longer without starting to degrade in terms of grip and camber.

There are some pretty good skis out there. I really like the Atomic Crimson Ti.  Seems like they are selling for $550 right now flat, so at that price, the MX88 really isn't much more money.  I like the Rev 98 from Head, the Stocklis....lots of good skis out there.

@qcanoe I think it would be hard to demo them in Maine.  ;)

Bought my last skis without demoing them.  Took me two seasons to love them.  Won't make that mistake again.
