PSA : Praxis Ski Sale(s) - tonight & next week...

The Praxis ( www.praxisskis.com ) spring clearance officially ends tonight. Still some stupid good deals available. Especially with any of the usual 10% off coupon codes ( I assume EPIC probably still is active). Some of the more popular sizes are sold out in a bunch of models. Lots of great skis are still showing in stock. And for my .02, if you are a smaller person (smaller guy, average female), you can get some of the best powder,  big/all mountain, and touring skis around for a song. Still 182 GPOs, 177 & 163 Protests, lots of Powder Boards, assorted RXs, shorter BCs etc. to be had for 500 bucks give or take (depending on model and build)) after coupon. The shorter Powder Boards are crazily cheap, even for this sale IMO. Keith has been shipping pretty much instantly for in stock stuff.

Most of us "older" customers can also dredge up loyalty program URLs that'll get new customers 15% off their first order. PM me if you want one from me. Or I'd assume Finndog, spiknmike, ExoticSkis, etc also are on that program & would be happy to get referral points as well. Anyway, everyone who plays wins with those codes.

Next week, Keith is going to be firing up the custom order presale on next year's models. I assume nice prices with early summer delivery. The usual custom choice of top sheet, flex, layup, etc... Should be tempting as well (must resist more insanity...)

I scored  a brand new pair of Concepts (177) in carbon for less than $500. Even through the wrappers the quality is apparent. Beautiful totem top sheet pattern with subtle transition of color panels. Looks like a considerable amount of thought went into the graphics. I am looking forward to experiencing the complex camber/sidecut design during spring skiing season. Since we got 18" last week, 11" this week, a few more tomorrow and are staring down the barrel of a potential Nor Easter next week, I figure that spring skiing, my favorite time of the year, may start around Memorial Day Thumbs Up

PS: Very cool to be able to correspond with Keith, the guy who runs Praxis. For some reason, Mr. Rossignol and Mr. Kastle never return my calls.

The pre-sale is up with lowest process until April 1.

I'd think smaller folks might find the shorter GPO sizes interesting. I was intrigued to see those pop up.

The weight estimator is kind of cool - shifts with specified flex, core, etc.

Previous customers also have additional 15% off coupons if you can hook up with them. For example, a new pair of semi-custom GPOs would be less than $500 with the additional 15% off.

Any idea how the freeride would compare to the cochise?

I have never skied or even flexed the Freeride. And never skied the Cochise... My guess is the best places to check would be in the two currently active TGR threads.

There is some discussion of the Cochise vs GPO at the current end of this thread: http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/showthread.php/260642-The-Official-Great-Pacific-Octopus-Thread

And this one is pretty active - http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/showthread.php/276032-The-2015-Praxis-skis-info-and-reviews-thread

Keith at Praxis  is usually super responsive. So  asking him what he knows about the comparison could be useful.

Super tempted to trade (sell) my Yeti for a stiff version with the new UL core. No weight penalty anymore..

Weight estimator is a nice addition. Fun toying around with the idea of touring on some of the bigger Praxis skis now.

Well, looks like the deal stays for a few more days. Got an email response from Keith late this afternoon and he said he was behind on emails due to a) Tahoe getting snow and b) him skiing it... and that as a result he planned to extend the sale. This is now up on the site.

The low introductory price on the Praxis Custom Made-To-Order Sale has been extended through April 7th.  Thank you to all that have expressed interest in our 2015 skis.  With both the snow and the questions piling up, we at Praxis  want to make sure that all your order questions are answered.  After many request from customers for more info and more time to decide on their order details,   we have decided to extend the low introductory price on the pre-order sale for another week.   Please let us know any questions you might have and lets dial in your ride for next season!

I personally would not bet on a second extension though. Unless Tahoe gets another few feet...:)
