... Just wondering if anyone else has experienced what I'm going through...?
I've been training over the season in preparation for my Level 3 Exam in April...
However...instead of feeling comfortable and positive, I feel nothing but frustration and confusion.
I'm happy with my teaching and have been told it's good.
It's my skiing and what I'm being told that's confusing me.
I've had personal development training with numerous course conductors and Level 3 and 4 Instructors over the season, and each one to a man has said something different and contradicted one another in their appraisal in what I need to improve my skiing. Nothing drastic, but just little changes here and there. However...it seems like one say's one thing...the other the complete opposite...it's driving me nuts.
From speaking to some fellow Instructors...it seems it's a common problem.
Not just in skiing but also Snowboarding... a colleague did his CASI level 3 course last week and was told to adjust certain things...he did, then the Course examiner told him he should have kept to what he was doing previously!!! He failed....
When I've approached the Instructors and Course conductors and told them of my concerns and differing opinions, they all seem to backtrack and say everyone was saying the same thing but just in a different way...which I know is complete bull.
For example... I know I need to get a little more upright in the ankle...it's been a weakness for ages.
When asked by a couple conductors what I've been working on...because of frustration... I told them that I was working on bending my ankle more...the complete opposite to what I need to do.
To my Surprise, they both said I was too upright in the ankle and needed to flex it more....aaaaarrrghhhhhh.... complete bull.
This was also not the only thing... It seemed half said I need to pivot more, then the other half that I needed to pivot less...and so on...
From now on, when asked what I'm working on, I'm tempted to say 'nothing...you tell me'.
I'm feeling totally disillusioned with this whole game...
Anyone else experienced this or have any thoughts...advise?
