More and more people are coming out against it as the idea gets publicized:

People here have been against ski resort expansion for a while.

Some people on this thread seem to think they know what locals around here are for or against.  I've posted this survey here before, maybe it's time to post it again...

Locals are probably split to some extent, but definitely not against it as the survey indicates.  The participants are very likely  similar thinking people who were surveyed attending "workshops" and activities with similar minded people.  This is no different than the SkiLink independent study showing little potential impact on the watershed: It was sponsored by people who are on one side of the issue.  What is needed is an independent poll of some sort, to get those 1000 people (or whatever is necessary for 95% confidence) representing a fair universe of the state population.  I imagine such a poll will happen within a year or two, possibly by the Salt Lake Trib.

Lol! I participated in that survey, at a chamber of commerce meeting. Yeah, a bunch of like minded capitalists who were smart enough to realize that our watershed is not worth risking to bring in the number of people that ski areas wish for.
