Just scored some Kastles at Dawgcatching's big spring sale

Wanted to let everyone know, in our new marketplace enthusiasm, that I just scored a nice pair of Kastles at a silly good price from our very own Dawgcatching, store of same name/web address having spring sale, stuff from 30% up to 60% off. Plenty of other major brands we jaw about, definitely worth a looksee. And his reviews are worth the trip even if you don't buy...

giving them a bump... some great prices and good selection available to go!

Scott's a good dude.  Thumbs Up

Kastle's are good skis.

Beyond is awarded the new "Segbrown Deal of the Season" merit badge. :)

At Epic, we all like great pricing. Dawg is a very valued contributor and gear provider.

Wish I could decide on skis.  I might throw Dawg a bone...

In all seriousness, I enjoy reading his reviews and responses here on the forum.  Even though he's on the other side of the country, I would throw him some business if he sells what I eventually decide to look for.

There are a number of skis he's got there that would work for you, including one that got this whole weight thing going: http://www.dawgcatching.com/skis/head/2014-head-rev-85-flat.html

Just call Scott and start a conversation. Describe your skiing to him and he will tell you exactly what will make you smile.

Worked ( and still working ) for me!

5 stars!!

Updated link to pricing (dropped some prices, sold out of some models)

Thanks everyone!  Happy to help out.  Ski blowout time!  I have a warehouse full of Cannondales and Treks to get in here; need to make some room.

FWIW, most everything we are selling is unchanged for next season, except for the graphics.

Please give us a call, prices are at cost on most of our skis, gotta call in though to get that pricing: 541-593-2453

I have great availability on some hot skis, like the Bonafide, Cochise, and Brahma.  Also decent availability on great but overlooked models, like the Peacemaker and Kabookie.  Kastles on closeout as well; Heads are all 50-60% off.

Today my Blizzard Magnum 8.0 Ca's grew 14 cm at a great price.

Thanks Scott!

[edit - Replaced my far to short 158s of the same model]

Enjoy! I have over 50 days on Kabookies and I love them. I'm a lighter guy, but I think Dawg/Scott(?) is absolutely correct in saying that it's an undeservedly overlooked ski. A coworker patroller got some after hearing me rave and he's super-stoked with them.

I can't find it now, but somewhere here Dawg wrote that he couldn't understand why the Blizzard Scout wasn't super-popular. Guess which ski I ordered from him and got a smoking deal on? Better than pro form.

Go Dawg!

Good to hear Bob. I'm on the 145-150 side too so after reading many reviews it sounded like the Kabookies were the way to go. I've skied other "flipcore" series and I like the feel so I decided to buy a size up from my 8.0ca.

I've read good things about the scout too. I hope I don't ever need a wider ski or I might end up single again if I do...

Maybe the only Bummer on the Scout is the length.  185 on that ski is "long" for whatever reason, and 177cm is a little short for deeper snow.  I am a bit in between sizes on that one.  At least I don't need to worry about lack of stability on the 185.

Yeah, as a lighter skier, I would definitely recommend the Kabookie for that 98mm ski.  After all, it is just a rebranded Samba (or maybe it was the other way around), so it makes sense that it works for the lighter skier.  I skied that both times I skied in the last 2 weeks, it rips in trees, and just has a larger sweet spot than any of the metal laminate Flipcore skis I have tried. Still plenty stable and aggressive, but more manageable, easier to bend the tip, and most importantly, more forgiving for us lighter skiers.

FWIW, I think we are either down to 1 pair of 180's, or out on that ski. I do have the 180cm demo left, which would be a $75 cheaper.

think the issue with the scout popularity is only one, the cochise! while the bonafine has a reputation of being a difficult ski to drive if you are a lighter skier which then gets the kabookie some attention the cochise doesn't... even though it's an amazing crud buster and quite stiff, it's not demanding as the bonafide is if you are a small dude...

Pricing dropped on many skis from the earlier pricing.

An update, I no longer have the Bonafide in 180 (still have 173/187)

Sold out of Brahma in 173 and 187 (still have 166/180)

Only FX94's left in 176cm are the demo pair (we have 186's new)

Black Pearls are gone

Kabookie is only available in 187 new. I have the 180 demo pair available.

Not quite on the same level as other purchases in this thread, but just scored some Smith i/ox goggles at a great price.  Glad I checked this thread!

Nice!  We don't sell many I/OX's through the site, figured it was someone who saw this thread!

I wouldn't mind picking up some new race skis (GS) for my son for next season.  Do you carry anything that might fit the bill ?

I don't have anything in stock, but there are some good closeout deals from the manufacturers.  If you let me know what you are looking for, I can do some digging for you.

I really haven't done the research yet, but I was thinking of some Atomic Redsters in about a 158cm length.  He is a big kid, so he is on the border between jr and adult skis.
