Question? Does anyone actually see "typical skiers" pressed too far forward or with knees bent to much?

Just asking

'caus I don't!   .... ;-)

mostly "people" ski back (defensively)  and rather straight legged.  Much as they walk.

Perhaps experiencing extremes would be a good thing for most.

cheers

(ps,  those bringing up visions from the 70's should hold back on comments regarding "forward" ;-)

I don't think the average skier can ski worse by not trying to get "forward" but of course for many people getting forward might mean flexing the knees and correspondingly dropping the bum back to a more unstable position.

Just to introduce you to people's positions (pun fully intended). smile.gif

I see people with their knees bent too much all the time, but usually it's more of a "hunch" position (butt back, torso forward), and not a result of their actual weight being forward.

What LiveJazz says about butt back and shoulders forward.  Others just have the butt back and torso upright.

I think many people think bending ze knees is good in itself.  They appear to be giving no thought to the tilt of the spine or lower leg, just the bend in the knees.

I believe I tend to have more knee bend than the average skier.

hey chris!!! come to stowe and ski osmetime....

I see a lot of people with their knees overly bent from trying to push forward. and actually ending up backseat from trying to get forward.

The problem is they have ot learn about ankles first and then, hips and spine as well, the knees IMO honestly only come into play if you are absorb or shorting your inside leg.

Hitch-kicking I think they call it. I used to be the worst. Raw shins and heel-spurs. Possibly worse than back-seat, or equally bad.
