Wow - does that bring back memories. My grandfather was an engineer for the Rio Grande Railroad and he and I spent many a day crossing Corona Pass back in the early 60's - just for fun. The pot holes were huge. I loved bouncing up and down off the seat of his truck and he'd pick just the right speed to multiply the effect. Seat belts ... pfffft.
This ride will be all road riding, but I'm sure I wouldn't have to twist my brother's arm to return at some point and string together an MTB tour of our old fishing and motorcycling haunts along the Divide. As a kid I always wanted to ski off the west side of the LP divide. Think it was prohibited but many did it anyway - maybe now's my chance. No tunnel back then. Many white knuckle trips over and back on LP. Going to be a fun cycle.
