Experiences with Toko's new tribloc formulated waxes?

I see last year Toko updated their dibloc range to tribloc. Does anyone have any experience with the new formulation and have any thoughts to share on speed, temperature range or durability?

It's pricey, just looked at it. $125 per 170 grams. I pay $20 for 180 grams for my stuff. So, maybe a racer, but not a huge number of racers here. And it's high fluoro, so now you're looking at even fewer users. Maybe after all the championship races are done they'll be back?

I've used the Red and Yellow LF Tribloc. Noticed very little difference over the old stuff, but I think the new stuff is slightly better in dirty snow. For what it's worth, I normally mix the two waxes into 'orange', because I find that works better for the temps I ski than just using one or the other.

The article below explains the differences but I was wondering how all that translates into real world experience. It seems Toko have not done very well in explaining the differences which is a pity as it looks like the biggest update of an entire range of waxes I have ever seen. They have changed the hardness of the paraffins, the fluoro additives and the carbon/moly/DLC additives so all of that should add up to something quite different to the old range.

Only used the Tribloc blue.   It's very noticeably harder to scrape than the Dibloc - forget crayoning.    Otherwise, the only time I thought I felt something improved-but-different was in skiing new snow near creekbeds (sharp crystals, high humidity, 10-15F air temps).   

 

I was looking at the DLC composition, but I still have a giant block of Dominator to use up.   Maybe next season.

Just a heads up -Toko and Holmenkol have raised their wholesale prices for next year.  Toko has also replaced their overlay waxes with new models.  ie: Helix 2.0

These are fluorocarbon waxes.  The difference is that the new one has three molecules of fluoro where the old one had two.  If one uses a racing overlay, then these waxes need to be used first to get the perfluoro's to adhere better or at all.   As far as speed goes too much fluoro will slow you down in dryer snows.  Go to there site and read up.

This is from Toko.  I was almost right.  It's now two instead of one.

 

"Tribloc is a natural progression from Dibloc. Dibloc came about because it was the world's first fluorinated hydrocarbon (aka LF or HF wax). This means 1/2 of the molecule was a fluorinated
hydrocarbon and the other half was simply a hydrocarbon (paraffin). Hence the name Dibloc ("Di" meaning two). Tribloc molecules consist of three parts.
A hydrocarbon part is sandwiched between two fluorinated hydrocarbon parts. It is still LF and HF, but it means that there is simply more part that is fluorinated.
Also, getting more technical, when a LF or HF wax is ironed on the ski, the molecule orients itself. The old Dibloc molecules would stand on the ski such that the hydrocarbon end was on the ski
and the fluorinated part was facing the snow.
This makes it a perfect base for a pure fluorocarbon top coat (as fluorocarbons do not like hydrocarbon - like oil and water). The new Tribloc molecules do the same - they go on the ski in kind of a U shape such that the bottom of the U is the hydrocarbon part and the parts of the U that are sticking up are the fluorinated hydrocarbon parts that reach out toward the snow. Again, this makes it a perfect base for a pure fluorocarbon topcoat such as HelX or JetStream. Theoretically this yields a more potent fluorinated hydrocarbon. Practically speaking, the new waxes have tested very well and are an improvement."
