Women earn their equal prize money in tennis

I got to watch the Indian Wells tennis tournament last weekend. Great fun and great tennis. I walked around for some close up looks at the pros on the outer courts - I imagined returning some of those serves. I had good seats for Murray, Federer and Sharapova. Of all the matches I saw, Sharapova was the most entertaining. She over matched her opponent (no pushover) to an extreme degree. She was the top competitor I saw that day. She was a huge draw - and a worthy one that day. The ticket was ridiculously expensive (almost a season pass) but the venue was full. Lots of women fans - maybe a majority. The business of tennis is working well - thanks to the women.

I've always enjoyed watching Sharapova. Like what's not to like, right? But find myself looking for her joy of the game to shine through, like when she won Wimbledon. Everything seems like work now. She definately still has the focus and the intensity; just miss the cutting loose, taking the wilder shots, and the smile.
