Replacing Ski Pole Grips

Thread Starter

My wife has a set of old Scott poles with wrap-around style pistol grips.  She would like to have these grips on her newer Scott poles. Anyone know how to replace grips?  I've tried twisting and pulling on the grips.  Nothing seems to work.  Using pliers will mess up the poles or grips.  Any suggestions?

Soak the grips in scalding hot water, then pull them off. But some people (me included) will give you a hard time about pistol grips. They aren't conducive to good pole technique.

Thanks, Bob.  And to reattach to the new poles?  Some type of cement?

Just smack 'em on. Turn the pole upside down and pop them on the ground. If they don't go on all the way, put them in scalding water then try again. If they go on too easily, see my previous post and put the original handles back on. wink.gif
