TKD6 71/6556 = 92.1 one of the worst up there with Nailbender actually. 0.011
Markojp 809/4115 = 5.08 0.20
Cobillsfan is 77/436 = 5.6 0.18
Bob Lee is 550/2938 = 5.34 0.19
Josh Matta is 333/1610 = 4.8 0.21
what interesting is as soon as I can mathemathically prove I am actually better than anyone I am then made fun of for saying I am the best. Get a life and learn to accept other people are actually more informative about skiing than you guys. can anyone beat 4.8? I think someone can but my guess is not many can.
I am not the first to notice this, but here is my take...
Josh is not any better at math than he is at using the English language.
What Josh has expressed as a fraction is not the answer he has given. What he has given is the inverse of what he has written. Let's ignore that for now. It has also been pointed out that Josh has been on this board for quite a while and none of his 10,355 previous posts count. Bushwhacker started posting in 2005 and was banned in 2012. During that time he received 0 feedback. I'm not sure when feedback started, but I think it was before 2012. In any case some of the other posters he is comparing himself to have been posting long before 2012 and he is using their entire post counts for his rating system.
Just for giggles I'll compare myself to Josh and a few others....
Post Count Feedback Score Feedback Unique Feedback Year Joined Joshes Score Inverse Feedback/Unique Posts/year
TPJ 2714 913 363 125 2007 7.48 0.13 2.9 339
Josh 1629 911 340 121 2012 4.79 0.21 2.8 543
Bush 10355 2005-2012 1,294
TDK6 6564 71 43 2002 92.5 0.011 1.7 547
Nail 537 7 7 2009 76.7 0.013 1.0 90
Bob Lee 2944 576 152 2006 5.11 0.20 3.8 327
I don't know the formula for calculating feedback score and can't see other peoples. Josh shared his and I'll share mine for this discussion. I looks to me like I am "winning". I have a higher feedback score, more feedback, and more unique feedback than Josh. I make fewer post per year and have five more years of posting history than "Joshmatta", some of which predated the feedback system. If you combine Joshmatta with Bushwhackerinpa, then Josh really isn't looking very good.
I am pretty OK with math and have some background in mathematics, but have forgotten how to really make my point with statistics. If we want to really get into this we need Tony Crocker and some more public data.
I have no problem with seeing every ones feedback scores. It has been pointed out that feedback is often given for being funny as well as being helpful. Presumably the feedback score is weighted so that people who have more feedback count more than new people. It is pretty clear that some of us have "fans" based on the feedback/unique feedback stat.
