I wanted to let the community know that the way reputation scores are calculated at present will be changing soon. The system is weighted so that for every 300 reputation points you receive you get a 1x multiplier to how many points your vote is worth. So that is why some users (@sibhusky @segbrown @crgildart ) are worth 8 or 9 points when they give you a thumbs up whereas other members give less points per vote. The problem with that type of system is that as the numbers start getting larger they increase exponentially at a very high rate. In fact on another Huddler site one user has a reputation score of 3,471,746,005,267,112,179,400,209 points. Which means then in turn every time she gives a thumbs up it is worth a lot of points and the system basically breaks.
As a result we are going to a logarithmic system for calculating scores to prevent this issue from happening. Now the bonus is going to be based off a log scale of four with the bonus threshold at 50 (the score necessary to be a Passholder). So instead of large 8, 9+ point bonuses they will be dropping back to a more compact point bonus and not climb nearly as fast.
