Alta Conditions, Thursday - Sunday

Thread Starter

My skis are in the shop so they're giving me a free demo ski for the trip here in DC before I fly out. I was going to get the Stockli VXL that I used two weekends ago here in the mid-atlantic. They're a pretty good all mountain ski, but given the snow Alta seems to have, does it make sense to get something better for powder?

Anyone that's been up there recently probably has a better idea!

We should be getting a bit more snow tomorrow, then dry out for a while.  85mm in the waist on the stockli is a bit narrow to have fun around here, so if given the choice I'd look for something in the 95-100mm range.  You'll still have a good time either way.
