difficulty with subscription to Real Skiers

Has anyone else had a problem with the Real Skiers website (www.realskiers.com)?

I've been a subscriber for years and renewed via PayPal, but my log-in has been rejected.

I've sent inquiries along with proof of my PayPal payment, but the e-mail I sent to jacksonhogen@sbcglobal.net was ignored, and the one to support@realskiers.com bounced back.

Seems to be working for me...

Mine's working. I renewed a few weeks ago without any issues.

I had some issues with my old password, but Peter Fixed it.  I think if you are among the earliest subscribers some of the old passwords have had trouble.  Peter still handles the web stuff so shoot him an email or call.

Tangent: I like and respect Hogen's views on skis, skiing, and the industry. He's been at it forever. But what's with the constant hubba hubba references to pretty women? He writes likes he's a character in Mad Men, not someone living in 2014.

No problems.  Forgot my password, got a change e-mail pretty quick.  Check your junk mail folder.

My problem with Realskiers is once they get outside of talking about carvers they start to sound clueless.....

I haven't noticed the anachronistic sexism, but the writing in the ski reviews now reads like advertising copy.  Slick and generating lots of emotion-laden imagery.  Like reading the blurbs on the back cover of a paperback novel.  It seems to be more about the verbal salesmanship than about the ski itself.

Agreed.  Much more meat in the prior owner's reviews.  Much easier to get an accurate impression of a ski's specific performance characteristics, intended buyers, suitability for different conditions, etc.

So why keep spending the $19.95/yr? Reviews are worthless. Save your money for demos. Nobody but you knows what you like.

Agree they screwed up the reviews.  Reviews up to 2013 are good.  2014 - not so much.  As soon as 2013 skis become totally obsolete,  there will be no point in subscribing.

I went up the lift with Jackson Hogan once and he asked me where I was from and when I told him he went on about this woman that worked in one of the ski shops where I lived and how beautiful she was etc.

Nothing wrong with that but I laughed when you mentioned the beautiful women references.
