Where is the @membername feature?

Ok, am I blind?  I can't see how to bring up the @ feature.

I had to resort to cutting and pasting one from another thread and then editing the HTML to change the name.

By the way, the Epicski FAQ is really old.  Is there a general huddler FAQ about site mechanics that could be linked to it?

@mdf, just start with the @ symbol and without a space type in the first letters of the member name and a list will pull up that you can select from.

Edit: This is for the desktop version.

Ok. I'm on my phone now and mobile has an @ button.

Instructions I gave above are for the desktop version. :)

Yeah, I got that. The difference between the two is what confused me. I was on the computer this morning.

Still it would be nice to have a "special site features" writeup.

It's an upcoming project on my list of things to do. Huddler doesn't even maintain a write up due to how frequently things change though, so it's a major undertaking for me so finding the time for it is a challenge.

So if someone writes @LiquidFeet, am I supposed to be notified in some way?

It shows up in your email. Would rather it showed up in subscriptions. My email had so much stuff in it I just delete them all.

@LiquidFeet it will email you if you have it set to do so (by default it is set to). There are some limitations though. For example mentioning yourself won't do anything; if someone edits a post after they submit it and then @ mention you that also won't send a notification email either. If you were mentioned in a forum you don't have access to (eg. the moderator forum) you wouldn't be notified nor if you were mentioned in a PM not sent to you.
