My First Pair of Skis - East Coast, Low-Intermediate Skier

Hi everyone!  Thank you in advance for your opinions.  I am in the market for my first pair of skis.  I want to be done with renting!   :)

I will be skiing in the northeast on groomed trails.  I think I would be considered intermediate.  I can ski most blues, but I get nervous on the blues if the conditions aren't great.  I prefer to ski at slow to moderate speeds, but perhaps I will get more comfortable at higher speeds as my skills improve.  Now that my youngest child is almost four, our hope and intention is to ski around 10-13 times per season.  I hope that with some lessons and frequent practice, I will build my confidence.  I am 5'3" and weigh 133lbs.

From what I have read online, the suggestion seems to be that I go with a 74mm waist and perhaps around 146cm length.  Does that sound about right?  Here are some of the skis I am considering.  I would appreciate any feedback on these, as well as any specific suggestions.

Rossignol Temptation 74

K2 SuperSweet 74

Atomic Affinity Air Ski System

Volkl Aurena

Again, thank you SO much!

Welcome to EpicSki!  I suggest you read the articles about buying gear (click on Articles in menu bar).  One point to keep in mind is that getting the right boots should be the first priority.

Have you seen any of the ski reviews on TheSkiDiva.com ?
