One skis for the whole day, whole week?

Hi

I'm light 160lbs (72kg), 5ft 10" (1.80m) height level 7 to 8 skier. Want to master and enjoy bumps. I need really versatile skis. If I want to ski pure carving or powder I will rent skis.

I want to ENJOY the whole day. I ski both carving and classic short turns (drifting) 50/50. Carve mediums in the morning, sometimes aggressively, enjoy crud later, then drift short turns to escape ice in the afternoon and then ski bumps or 2-3 meters off the pist to escape ice in the evening. 70/30 onpist/offpist, no deep snow.

I want to enjoy skiing, don't want work hard all the day, so I want softer skis probably because of my light weight.

I would say 2008 Atomic Blackeye 182cm would be my choice in 2008.

I missed several seasons and don't know current best all-mountain models, please just give me several models and recommended ski length for me, cause length depends on ski model (rocker).

I skied Rossignol Experience 83, 168cm. It was ok, but nothing special.

I skied Head Rev 85, 177cm. Very good skis, but I felt it was hard to turn them by the end of the day, when I was exhausted.

What models should I check, and what length should I pick?

Thank you.

Nick

Nick, try the Rev in a 170 for fun. Its a pretty easy ski. How's your basic fitness? There are a couple of great new skis coming that will be popular as well: the dynastar power track 89, and the new Rossi E-88... Its much nicer than the current E88 and IMHO, worth the wait and the money. If price isn't an object, next season's Stockli storm rider 88 is pretty buttery, stable, and easy to ski.

Hi

Based on reviews Salomon RS800 could be ok, unfortunately different reviewers, different options. Could be that XT800 would be to stiff.

What do you think?

Ok, I heard you about Dynastar and Ross, I'll try to demo them. I suppose Dynastar 179cm will be ok for me?

Nick
