Baldy next weekend?

I'll be down in LA next weekend and wondering if I should bring my skis. I imagine that Baldy is bare this moment, but it sounds like LA NWS is saying that 4" of liquid is possible for the moments, which sounds like a lot of snow, even if snow level is at 6500'.

If there was a foot or two of snow, would that open the steep terrain that's supposed to be so good? Or just groomers?

I'd really like to fulfill my winter's goal of surfing and skiing on the same day.

The only places open are the ones that make snow like snow summit and bear

The lower part of Baldy needs a lot of snow to cover the shrubs and stumps/logs. I doubt it, unless 4 feet falls which I have seen a long time ago. Id head to Mt High very early on Sunday morning. If the east is open, go there. Ive had a couple very good powder days there. You will need chains or 4wd with snowtires. Its about 1 hr 15 min from LA and sunday afternoon you could be in the water... with a full suit. Water temp is about 57 deg.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I ended up not lugging all my gear down since it would have been tough to fit in skiing even if it magically dumped. Too bad it was all rain anyway.
