Hi all, new to the forum.... I just started REALLY skiing again after close to a 20 yr hiatus... Probably have about 10 or so days in this year started the season off with a great new pair of lange sx 120.. Love them!! actually no (or at least little) pain any more.. Anyway looking to get into some new skis this season and maybe capitalize on end of season deals. So I know this topic has been broached before but figured i would try again and get some more specifics. I think I am pretty solid intermediate skier but have not had a chance to really work on my skiing much because i am mostly running around chasing and teaching the little ones now on skis . I am about 180 lbs and aprox 5'9 skiing mostly if not all east coast been spending most of my time up at OKEMO. I've demoed a few skis this year but don't have enough knowledge to entirely understand how i feel about them. So here it goes.. This year I've skied the Rossi Soul 7
the new Atomic Blayeye TI's and the Kastle BMX 88.. I think out of them all i liked the atomics the least.. they were fun but i think maybe a little too fast.. I felt like i had to really cruise in them (not practical when skiing with my little ones and my little little one) The Souls were fun.. but think they are better west coast also think i wanted a little more carvability? Kastles seemed good but am a little nervous about the general distaste for the ski. At the end of the day.. I want good versatile skis that are fun and don't put too much stress when hanging back with the kiddies but can really go too when need be and also help me progress as a skier. I am supposed to try the Brahma's next but worry i will feel similar to the blayeyes needing to cruise.. Any thoughts and size suggestions would be much appreciated...
