Park City here we come

Heading to PCMR Sunday and will be there for a week. It is the first time we will be there so not sure what mountains to ski. I am an advanced skier while the wife is intermediate to advanced boarder. We will do PCMR 1 or 2 days, Probably deer Valley for 1, I will ski Alta one day without her but not sure what else to do. I am wondering about current conditions as the area has lower than average snowfall for this time of year and next week is looking pretty warm with possible showers in the forecast (booo). Also  is there a multi resort pass that you can purchase like in Colorado? I am stoked to be going someplace that has some snow cause skiing on hard pack in Vermont gets old fast.

Welcome to EpicSki!  Not really a multi-resort pass like the Epic pass from Vail.  There is the SuperPass that is good at the places in LCC/BCC.  You might consider Brighton if want to go somewhere other than PCMR and Canyons.  If you go to Brighton, worth considering the free tour by a Mountain Host.

As you probably know, Park City has three different resorts. We've skiied at PCMR and Deer Valley, but not at Canyons. It's only our second season skiing, so we're at a very different stage than you and your wife.

For us, PCMR was a wonderful way to start. It's gentle and cosy and very friendly. The base lodge and restaurants are good, the snow was fabulous, and the lifts are fast and efficient. We really enjoyed being there, it was our first trip out West and the experience was great.

Deer Valley was surprisingly more clunky at the base than PCMR. The lodge is dated, the lockers are tiny, the food is extremely overpriced and very mediocre. But the mountains are fantastic! The trails go on forever, and you really get a feeling of exploring large amounts of territory. They groom like crazy, so conditions are always great. As Govnor said, there is no snowboarding at Deer Valley, so that might be a dealbreaker for your wife.

Canyons is, I have heard, a little more advanced. It might be the perfect place for you two. I can't say anything helpful about it.

You probably already know practical stuff. Park City's busses are excellent, frequent, and free. Restaurants in town are expensive and very good. The bar scene is fun and friendly. There are loads of interesting non-skiing activities if you want a break, but really you should just ski as much as possible.
