Question re: bindings & boot size

Hi guys,

Apologies if this is a stupid question, but here goes...

I am about to buy some new skis and bindings off the net.  Previously I have only bought skis that come with the bindings pre fitted, but on this occasion I'm buying them separately.

Ideally I would like the seller to mount the bindings for me... but the problem is my boots are over 600 miles away.  I don't know what sole length they are and the seller would need that info to mount them.  I have a rough idea that they are either a UK size 10 or 10.5, but I'm really not sure.  The guy said the bindings can be adjusted about 1.5cm either way.

So if I ask him to mount based on that size, is that too risky? The other option is to get them mounted when I get to resort and have my boots.  But I don't know how much this will cost (the seller will do it for free) and how long it will take them, considering I'm arriving on a busy Saturday. What would you recommend?

Sorry if its a silly question!

Thanks

if you remember the exact brand model and year of your boot, you could post, and people can try to figure it out.

If not, have them mounted when you get to the resort is safer idea.  This may take time for them to do and for a fee so you would be double-paying if the seller would've done it for free.   I would expect them to take a couple hours to do, but if it's rental day, they won't be able to get to it and turn it around for you possibly until end of day.

Nicer shops may offer to send you out on some rental skis for free or discounted price while they mount your skis, then you come back in for final adjustment on the boot /safety check and you are ready to go.

so you will not be completely out of luck, you will just have to pay.

Can you get them mounted locally?  If you can just do that.
