So... on topic, what skis were you on and how did you like them?
Visibility was not good when we were on the tbar, so we just went over the other side instead.
Well, I was on my Soul7s, actually. I was having the same debate about which skis to use (Souls or Dakotas/Cochise); because I drove up Wed night, I knew how windy it was, and how weird the snow was. So I thought I'd probably use the Dakotas, but then it was so windy in the morning I wasn't sure that we wouldn't spend all day in protected areas (ie, Reso, A Lift), which as you know are moguled areas. And I prefer the Souls to the Dakotas in bumps.
As it turns out, the wind was manageable and we spent most of time in bowls and trees anyway. Souls were fine. They can be hooky in that snow if you try to carve, but if you keep the tips up and flat and kinda slarve around instead, not a problem. There was more than 6" in a lot of places, but where I've found an issue with the Rossis is in maybe a foot or more of dense snow. But maybe I still float enough on 8" compared to Finndog, that fat-ass.
