Thanks for the input, its been awhile but I will give the shorter Skis a shot, every time I go into a store they suggest a non-FIS ski or non racing ski as they want to sell the all mountain skis which I already have, I am not seeing many stores carrying Racing skis anymore here in the Midwest.
What I have been looking at is:
Atomic SK Redster
Rossignol Radical WC SL FIS Slant Nose
The FIS skis are going to be the stiffest skis offered by each of the manufacturers, which is what you need to handle the power of your weight driving into and through the turn. It's not the length of ski that you need.
If you want a Race type construction and want a 177, check out Stockli Laser SX built for Ski Cross, has a 178cm length and radius similar to most of the skis you mentioned above, at 17.3 meters.
