Marker M54 Bindings?

Thread Starter

So from my other post tonight on the P10s, you probably guessed right that it's CLEAN OUT THE OLD STUFF TO MAKE WAY FOR SOME NEW night at my house.

Attached to said pair of P10s are some Marker M54s.  I don't remember anything about bindings, nor did I probably ever know that much about them, except that someone once sold me on Marker because they had "360 degree" toe release or something like that, back when a lot of makers still didn't.

Then I found a funny post here comparing the M51 to a fat skanky-cougar.  I'm trying to decide whether these M54's are worth salvaging.  I probably can't get them worked on in a shop, but I usually do my own adjusting... on the other hand, I don't have a mounting jig, so I'm thinking they are only worth keeping if they were a particularly good binding.

Advice?

Marker bindings in that era of M51/4 were basically the beginning..certainly in that time frame.. of Marker producing junk..and junk bindings.Just absolutely notorious for pre-releases and the beginning of Marker being attacked..and rightfully so for that.

Marker's pre release wows go back to the simplex toe whick worked just like a light switch, ON/OFF.

There was a "trick" we used on the Simplex deluxe, when used with the then new plastic boots. You would grind the end of the toe piece wings back so the boot could move laterally a "bit" before popping the spring ball and down you would go.... good times. The M-4 toe was light years ahead when it finally showing up.

Dude, don't Marker out!
