bindings...how much is too wide?

Looking to put some new bindings on a pair of older K2 apache X's with a 68mm waist.  The 90mm griffon's are a little wide but are they too wide to severely affect performance or be dangerous?  I'm 6'0 185lbs, intermediate and ski primarily groomed runs, thanks in advance.

Any other binding recommendations for this ski other than griffons...

Too wide.  On a 68 waist ski try to stay at 75 or less on the binding is my 2 cents.  I like Soli / Look bindings.  Level Nine can likely hook you up.  http://www.levelninesports.com/Tyrolia-Ld-12-Ski-Bindings-Silver

I've read several posts from binding manufactures that state about an extra 15mm width for the brakes is still very safe. So for your 68mm waist skis a 80mm or less brake should fit fine. Most race skis have a 66mm waist. They are paired with bindings that have brakes between 78mm / 80mm. The 90mm brakes on a 68mm ski are a little too wide.
