Another large size boot question

Hey, newbie here, looks like a great site.

I recently purchased a new pair of K2s and now need to get boots. My problem is, I live in Oklahoma and there is none here close to my size to try on, so I'll have to order in and would prefer to get it correct on the first try. Today I measured on a Nordica device at the Sun & Ski store here and measured right at a 31, 31.5 if I bent my knee. This evening I called Salomon to see what they had available and relayed my measuring info. The rep asked what size running shoe I wear, which is size 15, in some shoes I wear 14. Anyway, the rep told me I need a size 32.5 and that they have the x pro 100 in that size. My question to the boot fitters is, based on the info I have provided, can you confirm what size boot I should consider ordering and can you recommend other brands that manufacture large sizes.

Thanks.

1  the sizes are all over the place, ie if you measure a 31 on a n accurate foot measure then my money would be on a 30 in the salomon (BUT i cannot see your feet!)

2 your salomon rep sounds like he just whats shot of something he has lying in stock

3  there is no easy way, no short cut if you want this to be right, take the time to find a good fitter, travel to them and get fitted properly

Thanks, I may just have to deal with rental boots again and see a fitter when out west.

sounds best to try on boots in person

But if I could have my store here order them in, without having to purchase up front, and I can, what size would you recommend based on the info given. It's worth a try.

if the store cannot measure you accurately and know what to get in (without you purchasing up front) then they are not a boot fitter, wait till you get somewhere who can help you properly

what CEM said.

or order a BUNCH online, see what fits best and pay for the return shipping on the rest.     (but that seems silly, when a good store will carry a bunch of options)
