Last December one of the major airlines (Delta maybe?) began direct flights LAX to Kelowna. Probably a lot more $ than your flights, I'm guessing.

If you are taking a direct flight without changing planes, then you are probably all right with Air Canada, but if you change planes, AC has a bad habit of not getting your skis on your plane so they will arrive a day or two later. Take your boots with you as carry on luggage.
