K2 Coombacks sizing 181 or 188 and binding positions!!!!

Thread Starter

I'm looking to get a pair of Coombacks for Backcountry Cat skiing and resort Powder.

I'm 6' 2" and weigh 215-220

Athletic

Experienced and pretty aggressive but definately not afraid to just cruze along in the POW

I would like some input please on whether to go 181 or 188 on these bad boys as well as binding position, I've heard everything from Center to +1 or +2cm.....

My thoughts were to possible go with the longer boards and go +1cm to keep floatation but still have lots of control....

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

188 for sure. I'd say just stick to the recommended mark, in concept going +1 makes sense to keep to floatation but have the control, but I honestly don't think you'll notice 1 cm, hardly anyone could.

188 is like a 191 which seems giant in the store, then you put them on your feet and it all seems normal when you are 6'2".  I wouldn't go 181 unless I was only using them for touring with a focus on tight trees.  Mine are mounted on the line with Freerides.  Nothing weird to report about that.  I wouldn't move my binding position.

I have that ski's ancestor, the Coomba in 188. I am 5 10, currently 190 (but more previously). I love it and would not want it any shorter.
