Do you go 1/2 or 1 size smaller when you purchase ski boots?

I have Salomon X Wave 10, size 27/9.0 US (boot-fitted twice + custom soles).... And since I wear shoe size 9.5 US, I thought it would be a close call if they're going to fit or not.... But it turned out they actually feel bigger... almost like 10 US (lots of room in front of my big toe). They never seemed a good fit for me, and I'm shopping for new boots. Should I go 1 or 1/2 size smaller on my next purchase to compensate for the packing out?

read the above article and do a "Shell check" on the boots you now have and in the future on any boot you intend to purchase.

don't pay any attention to the labeled size marked on the boot---go with the shell check---then have the liner heat molded, your toes will be fine

so long as the boot has the correct width and instep height.
