Really want to get out this weekend (Sun/Mon), looking for recommendations on where to go either day in Western NC? Was thinking Beech or Sugar on Sunday then Cataloochee on Monday.

You might try asking in the general NC/VA/SC/GA thread:

Have you skied these places before?

Thanks for the suggestion, will post up there. No, I haven't. Would be first time for me but I think my wife went to Sugar several years ago.

Should be pretty good conditions.  Looking like snow Friday and Saturday.  Post in the meet up thread.  Others may decide to join you, especially Monday.  I'd skip Cataloochee and ski Sugar and Beech unless you are new to the sport.  Cataloochee has one pretty fun trail for advanced skiers, the rest of it is pretty flat.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm a rookie but my wife is a solid intermediate, so don't want her to get bored. Have posted on the other thread as well.

Monday will be empty so definitely worth skiing Sugar or Beech then.  If you stay in Boone, you might consider checking out App for night skiing and perhaps a lesson.
